Marcus McFarlin Delivers New Single ‘Yes Lord, Yes’

Marcus McFarlin, also known as “Elder Mac,” is a preacher, vocalist, musician, producer, actor, and award-winning Gospel recording artist known for his energetic worship style. Marcus began developing his gifts at a young age, believing God placed songs and melodies in his heart from childhood. He became especially known for leading praise and worship while playing the drums, combining musical talent with his passion for ministry.

In 2007, he released “He’s Coming Back” under his independent label, Pneuma Records, and then his debut album, ADDICTED TO PRAISE, in 2011. He further established himself as a rising voice, respected songwriter, and producer in Gospel music by winning UpTV Network’s 2014 Most Powerful Voice national competition and earning songwriting credits on “Come Bless the Lord,” recorded by Zacardi Cortez, and “Undefeated,” recorded by Marvin Sapp. In 2020, he was recognized as a BMI Trailblazer of Gospel Award Honoree.

Marcus’ journey has also included significant personal challenges, including a serious vocal cord condition in 2014 that threatened his ability to sing permanently. After recovery and what he describes as divine healing, he returned to ministry stronger than before. Continually growing in that strength, Marcus emerges today with a new single and declaration, “Yes Lord, Yes.”

“Yes Lord, Yes” was born out of a deeply personal season of obedience and loss following the unexpected passing of my father, Pastor Samuel McFarlin,” Marcus explains. “Having served alongside him in ministry for 27 years, I recently accepted the role of Assistant Pastor only after feeling led by God to say yes, despite initially not wanting the position. But, I sensed God calling me to lead the church into an honorable close — a difficult decision that required faith, courage, and complete surrender to God’s will.”

During that season, songwriter Shonn Hinton sent him an early version of what became “Yes Lord, Yes,” a song that immediately confirmed what Marcus believed God had already spoken to him.

“Yes Lord, Yes” carries themes of obedience, sacrifice, and trusting God even when His direction runs counter to expectations or public opinion. Drawing parallels to Jesus’ submission to the Father’s will in scripture, the single encourages listeners to quiet outside voices, seek God through prayer and worship, and boldly say “yes” to His calling regardless of the cost. Marcus delivers a soulful testimony of isolation and grief while pursuing obedience to the voice of God against all odds.

“Yes Lord, Yes” is available now on all digital music platforms. You can find more information about Marcus, his music, and his ministry at https://www.marcuseldermac.com/
