Lisa Knowles-Smith and The Brown Singers Earn First Dove Award Nominations

If you listen to Gospel music, without a doubt, you’ve heard the lyrics “The promises of God are yes (yes), The promises of God are (amen)” on social media, on the radio, and anywhere Gospel music is heard. The #1 Billboard Chart-topping hit “Promises” by Lisa Knowles Smith and The Brown Singers has taken the world by storm and marked the group as the first all-female Gospel quartet to reach #1 on Gospel’s Billboard and Mediabase airplay charts. The single is from their album REVIVAL: LIVE IN DALLAS. Both the song and the album have now earned the legacy group of family singers their first two Dove Award nominations.

“Promises” has received an official 2026 Dove Award nomination for Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year, and “REVIVAL: LIVE IN DALLAS is nominated for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year.

The 57th Annual Dove Awards are set to be handed out on October 6 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN, and Lisa Knowles & The Brown Singers will be among the nominees at this year’s prestigious event hosted by The Gospel Music Association. (Full list of nominees here.)

LKS & The Brown Singers’ Dove Award nomination is an addition to the incredible banner year for the iconic ladies of quartet music. They recently taped an interview and performance airing on Sirius XM’s Kirk Franklin’s Praise and made an appearance on the popular Noochie’s Live From The Front Porch with a special Gospel On The Front Porch concert.

Additionally, Lisa and the Brown Singers have been added to the line-up to perform at the 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, taking place on Saturday, August 15 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC. The group garnered five 2026 Stellar Award nominations this year:

In addition to their busy concert and tour schedule, LKS & the Brown Singers will host their 50th Anniversary Homecoming Celebration Concert on Sunday, October 18 at 4 PM at Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ in Memphis, TN. Stemming off the heels of their “Promises” single, the ladies have released a new single, “Goodness.” Their new single is faith-building and encouraging, inspiring believers to remember God’s faithfulness as assurance that He will continue to provide, protect, and keep His promises. “Goodness” is available on all digital music platforms.

For five decades, The Brown Singers have been rooted in the tradition of hymns and spirituals, but have creatively evolved, merging the sounds of soul and blues into their spirit-filled vocal blend and signature high-energy performances. Lisa Knowles-Smith, Rachel Anderson, Jackienna Richmond, and Sierra Pope remain a tight-knit family of singers, having now added Lisa’s daughter, N’dia, to the group. N’dia is a gifted singer and a member of the next generation of Brown singers, standing on the shoulders of her late grandmother, Vanessa Yvette Brown Knowles, an original group member.
