The Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA), under the leadership of Chairman of the Board Bishop Albert L. Jamison, Sr., has announced its upcoming 60th Board Meeting, to be held in Norfolk, Virginia, February 28 – March 4, 2027, at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel. The milestone gathering represents another significant chapter in the enduring legacy of GMWA, bringing together leadership, delegates, artists, musicians, ministers, and members of the gospel music community from across the country. For six decades, the Gospel Music Workshop of America has served as a vital institution for preserving, advancing, and celebrating gospel music while creating space for education, fellowship, ministry, and developing generations of artists and leaders.
“As we prepare to gather for our 60th Board Meeting, we do so with tremendous gratitude for the foundation that has been laid and great expectation for what is still ahead,” said Bishop Albert L. Jamison, Sr. “Sixty years represents more than longevity—it represents the faithfulness, sacrifice, and commitment of generations of people who have believed in the mission of GMWA. We honor that history while continuing to prepare this organization for its future.”
The 60th Board Meeting will provide an opportunity for GMWA leadership and membership to convene around organizational business, ministry, music, education, and fellowship while continuing the momentum toward the organization’s next chapter.
Additional information regarding registration, programming, special guests and related activities will be announced in the coming weeks. “This is a moment to celebrate where we have been, but it is equally a moment to look forward,” Bishop Jamison continued.
“The legacy of GMWA remains alive because each generation has accepted the responsibility to carry it forward. As we enter this historic 60th year, we remain committed to strengthening that legacy and ensuring that gospel music and its ministry continue to impact generations to come.”
