Grammy winner Yolanda Adams will headline a fundraiser for Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD on Sunday, April 6.
Eleanor Roosevelt Gospel Choir, under the direction of Michele Fowlin will perform. Ylwanda Peebles, First Lady of City of Praise church will serve as mistress of ceremony. The concert will take place at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center on the University of Maryland campus.
Funds raised during the benefit concert will help to expand the school’s cultural exchange program with Marmanet Secondary School in Kenya.
The benefit concert was created by the nonprofit organization A Very Taylored Foundation (AVTF). The foundation’s vision is to instill a sense of hope in the minds of youth who have experienced neglect and defeat. AVTF believes that education is a catalyst that promotes self-sufficiency and aspirations of being successful within individuals.
Funds raised during the concert will help Eleanor Roosevelt High School students and AVTF to fulfill three initiatives: purchase tables and chairs, build an additional bathroom, and provide scholarship opportunities for students at the Marmanet Secondary School.
