The Black Gospel Blog Names '1 On 1' By Zacardi Cortez Pick Of The Week

Blog founder Bob Marovich writes that, “Those who know Zacardi Cortez only from his intense vocalizing on James Fortune & FIYA’s The Blood will be surprised to hear his rich, balladeer side.” Marovich goes on to write that, “it is definitely a candidate for The Black Gospel Blog’s Best Singles of 2013.”

The inspiring tune jumps to #17 on next week’s Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart and was the most added song at gospel radio last week with 16 new station adds and the most increased plays. It’s not only scoring on gospel stations but has also picked up traction on key urban stations such as New York’s WBLS and Los Angeles’ KJLH.

The digital single is cuurently on sale on iTunes, Amazon mp3, Rhapsody and all other major online music retailers worldwide. The song anchors the forthcoming CD “Kerry Douglas Presents Gospel Mix VI” that releases August 20, 2013 and boasts great tracks by Tamela Mann, Ruben Studdard, Ted Winn, James Fortune & FIYA, Bryan Wilson, Earnest Pugh, Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson, Damon Little, Evelyn Turrentine-Agee and a host of up and coming artists.

“The song is about spending one on one time with God,” says the Houston native. “We all go through those times when we just have to put everything else aside – turn off the TV, put the video game down, stop taking phone calls – and just concentrate on our relationship. It can be your relationship with your girlfriend, your child or God. We all need that one on one time with the ones we love to let them know that we do love them and that’s the real message of the song.”
