Robert E. Person launches holiday season with new single

One of the D.C. metropolitan area’s most popular vocalists, Robert E. Person is bringing the holiday season in with two Christmas songs this year.  Robert shows off his vocal skills and versatility with one of the best loved songs from the stage and screen, the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, “My Favorite Things.” He recorded the song live in studio as part of his forthcoming album, CLASSIC COVERS.

But that’s not all Robert’s been up to!  He also produced “O Come Emmanuel” recorded by another D.C. favorite, Mike Mike McCoy_Voices United release singleMcCoy & Voices United. In a recent press release, Mike McCoy said, “O Come Emmanuel is one of my favorite songs during the advent and Christmas season. Even though the song is centuries old, it remains prevalent in the present times where there is so much racism and hatred. This song represents a prayer that is pleading for God to come rescue, deliver and heal our land. This is my prayer for the world today.” O Come Emmanuel” also features Christie Dashiell.

It’s been quite a busy year for Robert.  Earlier this year, Person released the first single from the album, “I Give You Praise”, a collaboration with gospel legend and DC.’s own, Richard Smallwood.  Robert also launched his radio show, Soulful Sessions. Now, Robert is E. Person is capping the year off with yuletide joy with these two new songs.

“Christmas and the Holiday Season are both times of celebration and reflection,” Robert said in a statement. “My birthday is the day after Christmas, so ever since I was a child, this season for me represents great expectation. As an adult, I’ve become more reflective of the gift of Christ – the true reason for the season.”
