NFL and Grand Ole Opry Welcome Mandisa for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The NFL and the Grand Ole Opry welcome Mandisa for their Breast Cancer Awareness month efforts. Kicking things off, Mandisa will perform the national anthem during this Sunday night’s NFL Network game featuring the 49ers and Texans (7:30 p.m. CT, NBC). During her performance, she will be joined by members of the 49ers family who are survivors.

Breast Cancer awareness month effortsThe National Football League and NFL Players Association will support October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with their fifth annual screening initiative and fundraising campaign. In collaboration with the American Cancer Society, the initiative, called “A Crucial Catch: Annual Screening Saves Lives,” reminds women 40 and older about the importance of having an annual mammogram.

The Grand Ole Opry has also asked Mandisa to join their Women Rock For The Cure™ in the fight against breast cancer on Tuesday, Oct. 22 with its fifth annual “Opry Goes Pink” show.

GRAMMY® winner LeAnn Rimes will flip the switch on the Opry’s signature barn backdrop, turning it pink for the night as Mandisa and other artists perform in support of breast cancer awareness. The evening is also set to include numerous activities recognizing breast cancer survivors.

Beginning today, when fans order tickets to the night’s 7:00 p.m. show, $5 from every ticket sold will be donated to Women Rock For The Cure™. Tickets are available at (615) 871-OPRY and

Mandisa’s August 27 release, Overcomer, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums Chart. The album’s title track has held the No. 1 spot for three weeks on the National Christian Audience chart as well as the No. 1 position on the Christian/Gospel Core Digital sales chart for 12 weeks. The song was originally inspired by her friend who was pregnant while battling breast cancer.

ABC’s Good Morning America (GMA) world premiered the music video, which includes special appearances from former U.S. Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, Captain Mark Kelly, Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton and other special guests.

This fall, Mandisa will once again embark on six-time GRAMMY® winner TobyMac’s acclaimed “Hits Deep Tour.” Joining Mandisa on the tour, which kicks off Nov. 7, are Brandon Heath, Jamie Grace, Colton Dixon, Chris August and Capital Kings.
