NBA All-Star Gospel Celebration Takes Place February 15

Gospel heads to the NBA! The 9th annual All-Star Gospel Celebration (ASGC) during the 63rd NBA All-Star weekend on February 15, 2014 at the Joy Theater 1200 Canal Street New Orleans, LA 70112 from 2-4 p.m.

The star-studded celebration of faith and inspiration will kick off with Amaya James, daughter of 12-year NBA veteran Mike James, singing the National Anthem. This year’s honorees are ESPN commentator/expert fitness trainer, Donna Richardson Joyner, New Orleans’ own Wild Wayne of Q93.3 radio, Senior Pastor/Speaker Dr. Debra Morton, community leader, author and award-winning recording artist Pastor Lester Love, and wife of 14-year former NBA veteran David Wesley, Shannon Elliott Wesley.

The red-carpet event will boast the attendance of many celebrity-guests, and exciting and uplifting musical performances by national award-winning recording gospel music artists Canton Jones, Micah Stampley, Ami Rushes, and BET’s Sunday Best runner up Alexis Speight. As an added bonus, the pre-show will feature some of today’s exciting up and coming gospel recording artists: “Signature,” Reid J Rich, and Pastor Marlon Lock.

Presenters will include New Orleans Saints tight end, Benjamin Watson, and Tomi Rose, global sports and entertainment specialist, Reality TV star and wife of former Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat NBA player Mark Stricklin to name a few.
