A teen sensation is about to impact the industry. Jekalyn Carr will release her national debut album, Greater is Coming, Tuesday, May 21.
The 16 year-old singer and evangelist has already been making waves with her compelling hit “Greater is Coming.” The song is currently #12 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart.
In a candid interview, Jekalyn Carr spoke with me last year about how she wants her music to touch others:
“I want them to be encouraged and to be restored, be healed and delivered from whatever it is that they are dealing with. I believe that when God gives us a song, there is a message in it to empower people. I want them to feel deliverance, that all types of shackles are being broken and to be inspired and touched by the music. This is what I want them to walk away with.”
In February, Jekalyn’s record label, Lunjeal Music Group signed an exclusive distribution deal with Malaco Music Group for her album release. Greater is Coming will be in Wal-Mart and on iTunes.
Jekalyn Carr captured national attention when she was very young with appearances on The WORD Network, “Atlanta Live” and as a special musical guest at Benny Hinn crusades.
She was featured in JET Magazine as one of the “Top 10 New Faces You Need to Know.” The 16-year-old singer was the youngest and the only teen on JET’s exclusive list of “young, gifted and black” professionals at the top of their field and under 40 years old.
