The Recording Academy announced the Grammy Award nominations today, including in the Gospel, Christian and Roots category.
CeCe Winans received nominations in three categories: Best Gospel Performance/Song, Best Gospel Album, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. Dante Bowe has five nominations. He is nominated for Best Gospel Performance/Song for “Voice of God” as well as “joyful,” the lead single from his critically acclaimed album, circles. He is also nominated for Best Gospel Performance/Song with Elevation Worship & Maverick City Music for “Wait On You”, Best Gospel Album with Maverick City Music for Jubilee: Juneteenth Edition, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Album with Elevation Worship & Maverick City Music for Old Church Basement.
Elevation Worship received three nominations, Tauren Wells received two, and Kirk Franklin and Jonathan McReynolds and Mali Music each received one. Worship leader Kari Jobe received a GRAMMY® Award nomination for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album” for her album, The Blessing (Live).
The Recording Academy will present the GRAMMY Awards on Mon, Jan. 31, 2022, on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on demand on Paramount+ from 8–11:30 p.m. ET / 5–8:30 p.m. PT. Prior to the telecast, the GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony® will be held at the Microsoft Theater at 12:30 p.m. PT and will be streamed live on GRAMMY.com and the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel.
