CeCe Winans, LeAndria Johnson lead GRAMMY nods in Gospel/Christian categories

CeCe Winans and Le'Andria Johnson led the Gospel nods with two each

The Grammy nominations were announced this morning and Gospel music was in the mix! CeCe Winans and Le’Andria Johnson led the Gospel nods with two each, Cece was nominated for Gospel Performance/Song (“Never Have to Be Alone”) and  Gospel Album (Let Them Fall in Love).   Le’Andria’s nods are for Gospel Performance/Song (“Better Days”) and Gospel Album (Bigger Than Me).

MercyMe and Tauren Wells scored two nods each in the Christain categories. MercyMe for Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song (“Even If”) and Contemporary Christian Music Album (Lifer ). Wells grabbed nods for Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song (“Hills and Valleys” ) and Contemporary Christian Music Album (Hills and Valleys).

Gospel also showed up in the American Roots category. The legenday Blind Boys of Alabama were nominated for their song, “Let My Mother Live.” The late Glen Campbell who seemed to love gospel amost as much as the country music he was world-famous for, was nominated for his song,  “Arkansas Farmboy.” Here’s the entire list:
