8th Annual DMV Musicians and Singers Fellowship Banquet Set for July

The 8th annual DMV Musicians and Singers Fellowship will take place July 17, 2023, at 7 pm at  Kettering Baptist Church Legacy Center. The evening will honor many prominent members of the DMV music community.

Honorees include Tiya Askia, Min. Lisa Henderson, Daryl L.A. Hunt, Connie Lawson, Bishop Marvin McCoy, Mike McCoy, Jonathan Patton, Mark Walker, and Anthony “Tony” Walker.

This year the banquet has added the special Distinguished Service Award.  This award will be given to an individual who has opened doors and/or kept doors open for musicians and singers to thrive in unique spaces within our community.

Kathy Brewington, Assistant Director of Education/Director of Gospel Programs at Washington Performing Arts Society will be received that honor. Brewington has served the music community well and has worked with others to keep Gospel Music/ Church Music on some of the area’s biggest stages. She has also helped pave the way for many young people who are now on some of the world’s biggest stages as adults.
