2nd Annual Independent Gospel Artists Alliance Awards submissions now open

The IGAA is looking forward to rewarding the artists who best represent these values in action.

The Independent Gospel Artists Alliance, Inc. (IGAA)  announced today that the 2nd Annual Independent Gospel Artists Alliance Awards celebrating independent Gospel, Christian, and Inspirational artists and their music. Artists can submit entries for award consideration starting January 1, 2020.

ndependent Gospel Artists AllianceThe Independent Gospel Artists Alliance Awards recognizes the best recordings and performances of the past year in 10 different categories. Artists who are nominated for these awards are distinguished artists and musicians in their local communities and around the country.

The 2nd Annual Independent Gospel Artists Alliance Awards will be held on July 10, 2020 at The Mount in Chesapeake, VA, where fans of independent Gospel, Christian and inspirational music gather to watch their favorite artists and musicians claim their awards. This year’s show will include a beautiful banquet in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the IGAA conference. Ticket information will be made available soon.

About the Founders:

Phillip Carter
Phillip Carter co-founder of IGAAStellar Award Winner, Phillip Carter, has rapidly risen to national and international acclaim status as an anointed gospel recording artist and songwriter, accomplished musician, talented producer and director, noted consultant and conference founder, and mentor. Phillip and his group, Sounds of Victory (SOV), are the 2010 Stellar Award Winners for Fan Favorite Choir of the Year. He is the current Director of the Georgetown University Choir and is the former Director of the Bowie State University Gospel Choir and former Assistant Director of the Howard University Gospel Choir. Phillip serves as a music consultant for four churches in the Washington DC area, and has facilitated workshops specializing in church and choir ministry for many churches across the U.S. Phillip takes the time to help others in his independent artist and songwriter community. In 2010, Phillip co-founded the Independent Gospel Artists Alliance (IGAA) Conference, a 3-day conference that educates independent artists on topics to effectively manage their business and career. In 2016, he co-founded the Bring Back the Choir New Music Forum that introduces songwriters to choir directors and ministers of music. In 2017, Phillip organized the Washington DC area chapter of the Alliance of Gospel Music Professionals and started the DMV Musicians and Singers Fellowship.

Phillip serves as President/CEO of SOV, Inc. and Phillip Carter Music. He’s married to Stephanie Carter and has two wonderful sons: Stephen, age 14, and Thomas, age 12.

Earl Bynum
Earl BynumStellar Music Award winner and Dove Award nominee, Earl Bynum, released his most recent CD “This Song is for You” with Tyscot Records and L’rae Entertainment of which he is the CEO & founder. Over the years of his diligent work in music, Earl Bynum has reached a level of national and international recognition that many artists do not attain. He has been a key figure in music for his home state of Virginia serving as the President to the Alliance of Gospel Music Professionals and National Vice President of the Gospel Industry Network (GIN) with Music alliances across the country, as well as his own syndicated radio snow on Musical Soul Food Radio Network called “On Stage with Earl Bynum.” He serves as the Executive Director of Music & Arts at The Mount, as well as session worship leader for the prestigious Hampton University Minister’s Conference. Through aggressive touring and appearances nationally, his exposure has grown globally and established him as a successful International Gospel music artist as well.
