Here’s a look at the artists and labels that scored Dove Award nominations this week.
Multiple award-winner Jekalyn Carr adds to a long list of accolades by receiving two more GMA Dove Award nominations, announced earlier this week.
Carr was recognized for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for her Number 1 album “Changing Your Story,” and Traditional Gospel Song of the Year for the album’s title track. This is Carr’s fifth consecutive year receiving recognition from the GMA Dove Awards. Jekalyn previously won the 2018 Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for her breakthrough LP “One Nation Under God.”
Carr recently launched her new beauty brand, JEKALYN BEAUTY, and the debut fragrance ‘Jekalyn for Her’ sold out in just one week.
Integrity Music Group
The indefatigable gospel singer Marvin Sapp is up for two 2021 Dove Awards. His 13th album, Chosen Vessel, is nominated for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year, while the album’s lead single – “Thank You For It All” – received a Song of the Year nod.
Written by Sapp, with Aaron Lindsey, Christopher Thomas Leach and Jamone Davis, “Thank You For It All” marked the fourth time Sapp had a #1 position on the Hot Gospel Songs chart, a trend that began with his seminal “Never Would Have Made It” in 2007. “Thank You For It All” also ascended to #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Digital Songs and Gospel National Airplay charts.
“I’m grateful to the Gospel Music Association and everyone involved with the Dove Award nominations this year. It is a blessing to have my music ministry acknowledged alongside so many great Christian creators,” says Sapp. “We do this because we are called to, but a little celebrating is okay too! Centricity Music and Centricity Publishing artists and songwriters are honored with eight 52nd Annual GMA Dove Awards Nominations, which were announced yesterday via a livestream event by the Gospel Music Association.
Lauren Daigle leads the Centricity Music roster with four nominations, including nods for Artist of the Year, Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year and Short Form Video of the Year.
NEEDTOBREATHE gathers nominations for both Rock/Contemporary Album and Song of the Year while songwriter Seth Mosley receives nods for Rock/Contemporary and Spanish Language Recorded Song of the Year.
Centricity Publishing’s Paul Duncan lands a Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year nomination, and has multiple songs featured on Natalie Grant’s No Stranger, which is nominated for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year. Fellow songwriter Matt Armstrong has a song featured on Phillips, Craig & Dean’s You’re Still God that is up for Inspirational Album of the Year.

Multi-platinum-selling performer and award-winning songwriter Dante Bowe has been on a roll since the release of his album, circles. From a chart topping single to features on some of this year’s biggest songs, Dante has been part of some of 2021’s most exciting musical moments. Today, that all comes to a head with three DOVE Award nominations, his first as a solo artist. Dante is nominated as New Artist of the Year, Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for ‘joyful’ and Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year for “Voice of God.” In addition to those solo nominations Dante is also nominated for Worship Album of the Year twice as part of Bethel Music’s Revival’s in the Air and Elevation Worship/Maverick City Music’s Old Church Basement.

GRAMMY nominated, internationally renowned artist collective Bethel Music has garnered 16 GMA DOVE Award nominations, breaking their previous record of most nominations in a single year. The nominations span 12 categories, including the coveted New Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.
Leading the nominations is Brandon Lake with seven nominations: Songwriter of the Year (artist), New Artist of the Year, Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for “I Need a Ghost,’ and Long Form Video for House of Miracles (Live) as well as Song of the Year and Worship Recorded Song of the Year for his participation in Elevation Worship’s “Graves Into Gardens.” Lake is also nominated for Spanish Language Recorded Song of the Year for “Tumbas A Jardines” with Elevation Worship. Following is Dante Bowe with three nominations: New Artist of the Year, Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for ‘joyful,’ and Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year for “Voice of God.” He is also nominated as part of Maverick City Music for Worship Recorded Song of the Year with Jireh, a collaboration with Elevation Worship. Cory Asbury earned two nominations: Song of the Year for “The Father’s House” and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for To Love A Fool and Brian Johnson is nominated for Worship Recorded Song of the Year for “Battle Belongs,” which was co-written with Phil Wickham. Bethel Music’s Revival’s In The Air is also nominated for Worship Album of the Year and Recorded Music Packaging of the Year.
Brian Courtney Wilson
Brian Courtney Wilson, renowned singer-songwriter, adds to his list of accolades receiving a GMA Dove Award nomination for Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year announced today. Wilson earns a nomination this year for Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year for his acclaimed album STILL. This is Wilson’s sixth GMA Dove Award nomination, and he previously won in 2015 for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for his breakthrough LP “Worth Fighting For.”

Capitol Christian Music Group (Capitol CMG) earned 92 nominations for the 52nd Annual GMA Dove Awards, representing honorees in 33 different categories. Nominees represent all of Capitol CMG’s entities including Capitol CMG Label Group, Motown Gospel, Commercial Partnerships, & Capitol CMG Publishing.
