Zacardi Cortez Hits Billboard's Gospel Top Ten With "Reloaded" CD

Zacardi Cortez’ sophomore CD “Reloaded Deluxe Edition” (World Wide Music, Inc.) has debuted at #10 on this week’s Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.

The thirteen-track CD features Cortez’ latest radio smash “1 on 1” that recently spent five weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Airplay chart and his new soul-stirring new radio single, “God Held Me Together.”

The album is full of musical treats including the uplifting track “I’m Yours” that boasts a futuristic musical backdrop while the urgent “More of You” is a plea for more intimate time with God. The set is rounded out with engaging collaborations with Lalah Hathaway, Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson, Isaac Caree, Fred Hammond, Earnest Pugh and other notables.

Zacardi Cortez and Hathaway performed “1 on 1” on BET’s primetime TV Special “Celebration of Gospel” this past Sunday and the show earned its highest ratings ever with over 2.6 million viewers. The program will re-broadcast Thursday, April 10 @ 8 p.m. EST. “Seeing Lalah and Zacardi on stage together was a highlight for me,” said one fan who witnessed the performance at Los Angeles’ Oprheum Theater that evening. “The whole show was great but they were my favorite.”
