The Stellar Award winning internet radio station, Yes Lord Radio threw an event for indie artists at Kingdom Cafe in Nashville Tennesee. The event took place as part of Dove Awards week activities. It was a time for artists to interact with media and radio personalities in an informal setting.
Founded in 2005, Yes Lord Radio (YLR) began as a small Christian e-newsletter that featured gospel entertainment news, inspirational word, and healthy living tips. Today, YLR is a multiple award winning radio station that features three channels: YLR Gospel Hits, YLR Hype and YLR Gold Praise. Yes Lord Radio has served as the official media sponsor for several major events, including the I Hear Music In The Air Conference and exclusive CD release parties for Tye Tribbett, James Fortune, Smokie Norful, the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel and Motown Gospel. So it’s no surprise that they took time to bring artists and media together.
While some of the artists were Nashville-based, many were in town to take advantage of network and showcase opportunities that were taking place prior to the 47th Annual GMA Dove Awards. Many PR spescialists were on hand and notables such as Motown Gospel’s Eboni Funderburk, producer Stan Jones and IMAC’s Jeff Robinson stopped by.
Here’s a look at some of the folks who dropped in:
Nate Bean, frontman for Nashville-based Gospel super group Nate Bean & 4Given was in the house. Their debut album, Hymns and Devotionals Unplugged was released in July. Nate Bean has dedicated many years to songwriting, arranging and providing vocals for countless projects and artists in Gospel, Country, Pop and Christian music including Carrie Underwood, Pharrell, Trace Adkins, and Little Big Town.

The Beard Sisters are a singing sensation and very tight-kinit. When asked a question, the sisters tend to respond in unison! Their most recent single, “Trust God” was released in 2015.
Costie Payne traveled from Japan to attend Dove Award activities. Since the release of his debut gospel single, “Grace and Love” earlier this year, it has been non-stop for Payne. Payne’s debut album The Breakthrough, which features “Grace and Love” as well as his next single, “Never Ask Why”, is written and produced by Payne, along with notable names in Gospel such as Alex Smith of Narrow Street Music and Grammy and Emmy Award winning producer, Ben Paris. Both singles are available through digital downloads. The full project is scheduled for a 2017 1st quarter release
It was a great job by Yes Lord Radio in creating an event that garnered such great attendance. Hopefully they will bring this very well received event back to Nashville next year!
