The Connection Honors Y’Anna Crawley During Black Music Month

Y'Anna Crawley gets honoredStellar Award winner and BET Sunday Best Season 2 winner Y’Anna Crawley will be honored when The Connection commemorates the legacy of Black Music next month.  The event will take place at Eden’s Lounge (15 West Eager Street, Baltimore, MD 21201)  at  8 p.m, Thursday, June 27.

The evening will include live musical performances, special tributes to fallen musical greats and will honor some of the area’s trailblazing artists.

“The success of the 2012 show prompted me to think more seriously about turning this one-night event into an annual celebration, the opportunity for me to create a platform that would lend it self to the celebration of artistry and individuality did my heart glad. The energy in the room was amazing I would be crazy not to do this again,” stated Kevin Lei, host of The Connection.

The Platform  Black Music Month celebrationThe event will be hosted by national author and poet, Sheri Booker  and national recording artist, James Murphy Some of the artists include returning performers Jared Shanklin and Freedom Imani as well new artists, Cameron Washington,  Brittanie Thomas and hip-hop artist, Jay Flame. Black Music Month continues its tradition in honoring trailblazing artist for their dedication and achievement within the music industry locally and abroad.

In addition to Y’Anna Crawley, The Connection will honor one of Baltimore’s legendary club DJ’s, DJ Boobie, and Columbia Sony BMG National Recording artist,  Paula Campbell.

Black Music represents soul, unity, strength, and power, but most of all love. Join us for an evening of celebration, special performances, and musical tributes in a relaxing-social atmosphere.
