Maryland-based Strategic Music Partnerships (dba StrategicMPTM) is now officially a public charity with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Strategic Music Partnerships is now eligible to apply for government and foundation grants with this new status granted on January 5, 2017. The status will broaden the organization’s access to resources and strengthen its ability to serve the music industry, collaborate to lend more weight to the community, strengthen music education and policy; and work with stakeholders who foster the integrity of networking.
In a statement, Director Henry Harris, said “Obtaining this 501(c)(3) distinction is a momentous milestone for Strategic Music Partnerships. As a charitable organization, this opens new doors of opportunity to expand core competencies and, fully achieve our objectives to facilitate policy, training and the professional development needs of musicians and artists.” This organization was founded by Harris in 2016.
Harris is a gospel music veteran, metadata expert, community advocate and formerly, president of the Stellar Awards Gospel Music Academy Advisory Board. Strategic Music Partnerships, includes The Excellence in Christian Music Academy and Spiritco1 Radio. The organization will partner with members, organizations, advocates and music entities to share knowledge, performance opportunities, legislative information and technology advancements in music and the music industry. All stakeholders within the music industry are welcome.
