Evangel Cathedral continues to deliver high quality, Broadway-style musical productions with a gospel message. Their latest production, “King of Kings” took place this past weekend and concluded on Palm Sunday, March 24 before a sold-out crowd.“King of Kings,” produced by Elder Payton Gray and executive-produced by Bishop Donald Meares and Elder Kevin Matthews, captured the sights and sounds of the life and times of Jesus Christ, including live animals. There were many touching and awe-inspiring moments. The production was punctuated by music from award-winning gospel artists Richard Smallwood, Shirley Caesar, Tamela Mann, LeAndria Johnson and Beverly Crawford. Richard Smallwood captivated the audience as he played “The Lord’s Prayer” and he once again took to the keys as Shirley Caesar and Beverly Crawford joined him for a powerful rendition of his hit, “Calvary.”
