Since launching their church Nashville Life Christian Church (NLCC) in March 2012, Co-Pastors CeCe Winans Love and Alvin Love have seen the church continue to experience growth. Now the church of more than 100 families, young adults and couples is launching a major initiative to to help those less fortunate in the surrounding communities.
Nashville Life Christian Church is collecting toiletries, clothes, winter coats and blankets for Covering Nashville – an initiative to cover homeless families in Nashville this cold, holiday season.
NLCC is taking on the challenge to collect more than 1,000 blankets for homeless individuals and families in Nashville to hand deliver them on Saturday, November 23rd. NLCC is also asking the community to donate toiletries, clothes, sleeping bags and blankets to this endeavor, in hopes to provide extra comfort during the cold, winter months approaching.
“As the pastor of this church, we are blessed to be a blessing to those who are less fortunate. Jesus said in Matthew 25:40, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these, my brothers and sisters; you were doing it to me.’ We are hopeful that others will hear about our efforts and want to contribute to this worthy cause. There are thousands of men, women and even children who are living on the streets of Nashville, and we as a church feel the responsibility to help those in need.” -Alvin Love, II Senior Pastor of Nashville Life Christian Church.
A full list of the acceptable items to donate can be found at Covering Nashville’s registries at Wal-Mart, Target and Bed Bath & Beyond. Monetary donations can be made on NLCC’s website for Missions.
