Chrystal Rucker to appear in FBCG’s hit play, ‘The Uncut Coming Of Christ’

One of the most beloved plays in the DMV is back again this Christmas season. “The Uncut Coming of Christ” will once gain hit the stage at First Baptist Church of Glenarden’s (FBCG). Directed and co-written by playwright, Joshua Jenkins​ and Stellar Award-winning artist Anthony​ ​Brown​.

Gospel star Chrystal Rucker is set to appear in First Baptist Church of Glenarden’s (FBCG) hit play, “The Uncut Coming of Christ”. Sixteen-year-old Gospel phenom, Kelontae Gavin, a South ​Carolina native, and DMV vocal sensation Atiya “Tiya” Askia, star as Joseph and Mary along with Chrystal Rucker as the angel in this dramatic and contemporary adaptation on the birth of Christ for all to enjoy. The play is directed and co-written by former Prince George’s County police officer and visionary playwright, Joshua Jenkins​ and Stellar Award-winning artist Anthony​ ​Brown​.

Anthony Brown earned his second Billboard number one album with A Long Way From Sunday. He swept the Stellar Awards in 2016 with his sophomore album, Everyday Jesus. Brown a landed a starring role in the national stage play “Mama’s Boy,”  that kicked off in September and ran throughout the fall.

Joshua Jenkins serves as director of First Baptist Church of Glenarden’s Drama Ministry and Young Adult Ministry. He has worked with and directed with many icons in the gospel realm such as Kim Burrell, Isaac Carree, AnayshaFigueroa-Cooper, Sheri Jones-Moffett, The Walls Group, Anthony Brown, Y’anna Crawley, Tasha Cobbs and many other artists.

The star-studded production is a FREE holiday favorite for all ages, attracting more than 19,000 attendees each year from across the country. Audience members will be transported in time upon arrival as they experience the sights and sounds of Bethlehem, with live animals (including camels) and more, throughout the Great Halls of the church.
