Chicago based record label Ashro Music & Media, LLC has inked a distribution deal with Entertainment One Music (eOne), the label enterprise spearheaded by Marcus Taylor, Director of Operations at Ashro Music & Media, LLC announced today, June 26, 2013.
The first project slated for release by Ashro Music & Media under the new deal will be legendary Grammy®, Dove and Stellar Award nominated artist Lemmie Battles. “Testify,” the late summer 2013 project is a collection of fiery testimonies delivered by song designed to showcase Battles’ long revered alto over an assembly of breathtaking gospel arrangements.
This new venture serves as the latest extension of the ever-evolving Ashro brand, a moniker that consumers have long known and trusted since its inception. Incipiently stamping its name as a fashion brand designed to cater to the unique needs of African American women, 2009 saw Ashro expand to encompass music in its umbrella of offerings to match and appeal to its Afro-centric audience.
